The Fresh Rupture of Tendocalcaneus





Abstract
The rupure of tendocalcaneus may result from various types of trauma, especialy in middle aged man.
At first. it was described by Pare (1575) and therafter the causes, diagnostic and therapeutic methods of the ruptured tendon have been described by many workers. The eight patients (5 males and 3 females) of freshly rnptnred tendocalcaneus have been treated surgically by Lindholm method and afollow-study has been made during i6 months from May, 2972. to August, 1973. The results were summarized as follows;
1) The rupture of tendocalcaneus was more common in man of the 4th decade.
2) The rapture by indirect injury was 3 times more common than bq direct injury.
3) The most ¢¥frequent sites of ¢¥rupture were at the muaculotendinous junction. ¢¥
4) All the caeca was repaired by Lindholm method and the results were- good.
5) The norcaal function of tendocalcaneus can be regained ¢¥about 6 months after operation.
